Description:

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Clemson University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in applied statistics starting with the Fall 2018 semester. Targeted recruiting is for one position at the assistant professor rank and one position at the associate professor rank, but applicants at all ranks will be considered. Candidates should have strong potential, or demonstrated capability, for effective research and teaching in the mathematical sciences. Specific desirable attributes for candidates include strong interest in: 1) collaboration with subject-matter researchers throughout the university; 2) collaboration with faculty members in the Department; and 3) innovative non-traditional teaching approaches (such as for online courses).

In addition to applied statistics, the Department includes the areas of algebra and discrete mathematics, computational mathematics, operations research, probability and mathematical statistics, and pure and applied analysis. The department offers the full range of Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees.
