The School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law (AFIB) invites applications for two tenure track positions in Business Law at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Spring semester 2019 or Fall semester 2019. The successful candidate will bring areas of teaching and research that complement and integrate with those of existing faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to advise students, be involved in appropriate student organizations as well as fulfill normal institutional service obligations. Ability to maintain an active research agenda resulting in scholarship in refereed journals and/or law reviews is required. Candidates should have a strong record or show strong promise to contribute to the intellectual and practical lives of students and other stakeholders of the School, College, University, and the business community. Teaching responsibilities include three courses (face-to-face or online format) per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level. The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach diverse legal topics and their business applications. Intellectual contributions are expected in one or more of the following areas: technology, international law, business associations, contracts, environmental law, employment law, ethics, marketing and ADR. Teaching experience and research record should be commensurate with the rank sought. Moreover, teaching and service duties may require a 5-day per week presence on campus. The successful candidate must meet the AACSB accreditation requirements regarding academic qualification of college of business faculty. The AACSB requirements for academic qualification mandate a minimum level of relevant research and publication. Western Carolina University is AACSB accredited and the College of Business has over 70 faculty members. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position Minimum Qualifications

JD degree from an ABA accredited law school is required.
