The Executive Director of Admission and Recruitment Strategy is responsible for leading the development, implementation and on-going assessment of recruitment and enrollment strategies for the University’s undergraduate and graduate programs, working collaboratively with academic and administrative leadership, as well as other key stakeholders. The Executive Director has direct oversight of the admission team, all admission processing efforts utilizing the institution’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Slate, international programs and serves as the liaison to all colleges, including the College of Pharmacy and Chicago College of Performing Arts.

The Executive Director will work closely with the Office of Marketing and Communication on messaging and communication pieces for each student population. This position is charged with developing and administering the annual budget for the Office of Admission. This integral role requires a creative thinking, community builder who thrives in a competitive environment with high expectations. This is a full-time, administrative exempt position that reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and requires work on both the University’s Chicago and Schaumburg campus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Bachelor’s Degree

5-7 years of experience in an Office of Admission or an enrollment related field in higher education.

3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience, directly managing and mentoring professional staff.

Experience developing and implementing enrollment strategies with a proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding enrollment standards.

Exceptional communication and teambuilding skills with a capacity to work effectively with a variety of constituencies, including students, executive and academic leadership, staff and faculty.

Well organized and able to work under pressure with multiple deadlines in an ever changing, fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage time.

Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.

Demonstrated experience using technological solutions in enrollment management and experience leading technology projects to improve efficiencies.

Proven background in budget development and management.

An advanced understanding of enrollment management and its relationship to academic affairs in a private college or university setting.

Flexibility to work outside normal business hours.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of demonstrated experience leading enrollment efforts.

Direct experience in the recruitment of graduate students.

Prior experience using Slate, the institution’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Equipment Operated

Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).

Working Conditions

Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required.
