Governors State University’s (GSU) College of Education invites applications for two open rank tenure track professors in the counseling program to begin in January of 2019 and/or August 2019. The appointed faculty members will be part of the Division of Psychology and Counseling. The counseling program includes specializations in clinical mental health, marital, couple, and family counseling, school counseling, and a doctorate in counselor education and supervision. Applicants will be expected to teach masters and doctoral courses that may include students from across the College of Education. Course load may also include undergraduate courses.

1. Applicants must have a doctorate degree in counselor education or experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited program and a degree in a related field.
2. Applicants must be at least ABD.
1. Doctorate degree in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program by time of appointment
2. Teaching experience in a CACREP-accredited counselor education program
3. Experience teaching in a counseling doctoral program
4. Specialization in school counseling
5. Experience in Pre K-12 as counselor in school setting
6. Professional education license in school or eligible
7. Experience directing dissertations
8. Ability to teach research methods or statistics
9. Experience with underserved populations
