Support the Emerson Launch Director with all facets of the Emerson Launch program. This position is a good fit for a self-¬motivated person who aspires to a general management position in an organization or who wants to work in the startup sector. The position is part-¬time, requiring up to twenty hours per week.Required Qualifications
•Experience using SquareSpace or other website builders, or proven ability to quickly learn online editing tools.
•Strong English language writing skills.
•Attention to detail: use of accurate grammar and punctuation in all written materials.
•Familiarity with professional use of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.
•Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, to meet agreed¬ upon deadlines.
•Resourceful: Can demonstrate confidence in getting things done working within a lean organization.
•Relationship management: Has built relationships with busy and successful professionals or can prove their ability to develop this skill
•Demonstrates and uses communication skills appropriate for the audience and the situation.
•Familiarity with excel
•Interest in the startup and innovation economy
Specific responsibilities include:
1.Communications and Outreach:
a.Update the Emerson Launch website.
b.Post helpful and engaging information to social media accounts.
c.Prepare and edit marketing collateral.
d.Meet with interested students to inform them about the program.
e.Make short presentations to classes of Emerson undergraduates.
2.Community Building, Reporting and Writing:
a.Identify and reach out to Emerson alumni entrepreneurs to interview them to write short articles for Emerson Launch online channels.
b.Write monthly newsletter for supporters with update on Emerson Launch startup activities.
a.Complete forms to request funds for startups.
4.Event Planning and Management:
a.Help plan Launch Camp and Showcase events by scheduling facilities, ordering food, and monitoring logistics.
b.Schedule entrepreneur office hours and communicate them to student startups.
