Job Details
The School of the Arts Office of the Dean oversees of the school’s three academic departments: Writing, Literature and Publishing, Visual and Media Arts, and Performing Arts as well as the new Program in Comedic Arts, public and gallery arts exhibitions, and the Engagement Lab. Our mission is to support the SOA faculty and staff in their respective missions and administrative structures.
Seeking one Graduate Student Associate. For 10 to 12 hours per week to work in the Dean’s office.
Specific responsibilities will vary over the course of the semester and year, but include:
•Clerical tasks (scheduling meetings, online research, answering phones, copying, filing, proofreading).
•Other duties as assigned
Applicants must be a graduate student and be eligible for Student Employment.
Required QualificationsThe ideal candidates for the position will be quick thinking, flexible, well-organized, self-motivated but also willing to take direction and feedback, and will be committed to maintaining discretion and confidentiality of sensitive matters. They will be familiar with basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). They will be able to manage their projects with minimal supervision while respecting that the work is a part the collaborative effort of the larger office. Must be good at juggling a variety of tasks simultaneously.
Preferred QualificationsStrong writing skills a plus.
Online research.
Social media and web content development (will get trained in using the college’s web editing tools (Drupal)).
Physical DemandsApplicant will be required to deliver materials to various offices around campus, as well as attend meetings at various campus locations.
