This position performs a range of analytical tasks for several key WSU Energy Program efforts. One key effort area is the advanced space and water heating research that we have been performing for several years. This position handles the collection and maintenance of high volumes of energy use and system performance data from remote data collection sites, performs initial quality control checks on the data and performs or recommends handling approaches for suspect data, aggregates and organizes the data for analysis by the project team and participates in the team’s analysis as a subject-matter expert.

This position provides support to the Renewable Energy System Incentive Program, a $110 million incentive implemented by the WSU Energy Program on behalf of the State of Washington. Specifically, this position has developed and implemented the process flow that manages the on-line application system for the program and many of the data analysis and visualization products that have been used by the program team to manage the program and inform the public about the program status.

This position analyzes and prepares energy use and building performance summaries for several public agencies involving hundreds of facilities on a fee for service basis. This position develops, analyses, maintains and refines the summary tables, graphs and other data visualization approaches, as well as refines and maintains the data used in the analyses.

Finally, this position provides smaller amounts of analytical, data curation and data visualization support to other projects at the WSU Energy Program led by other analysts, engineers and building scientists.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant energy program discipline and two (2) years experience in energy management, program management, environmental education, technical writing or information analysis and delivery. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements

Demonstrated effective communication skills. A basic knowledge of the applied aspects of energy conservation and efficiency and renewable energy resources.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working independently and in a team, particularly with a variety of individuals.

Experience contributing to design and content of information materials in print and on the web.
Experience managing multiple activities concurrently and meeting project deadlines.
Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Experience working with large funding organizations, government entities, utilities and national laboratories.
Experience in coordinating work between multiple contractors of a single large funder.

Experience in working with the public on energy issues, concerns, or providing technical or programmatic energy assistance.

Experience developing technical reports or program planning.

Experience coordinating activities or information with multiple organizations, agencies, or groups.

    Associate Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence Recently Announced

    Dr. Lisa Guerrero was recently named associate vice provost for inclusive excellence. Guerrero has been an active advocate for diversity and inclusion since joining the WSU faculty in 2004. She is currently a professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies in WSU’s School of Languages, Cultures, and Race. She will maintain her faculty position, while serving as associate vice provost in a half-time appointment.

    Dr. Guerrero will provide leadership to academic affairs in implementing WSU’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. She will help to identify and implement best practices and evidence-based approaches in faculty hiring, tenure and promotion, research support, faculty retention, teaching and mentoring, and curriculum planning. One of her first areas of responsibility will be to oversee the Racism and Social Inequality in the Americas faculty cluster hire program for Fall 2021.
