Job Details
UVU is seeking a full time Admin Support III. This position will have the opportunity to work under the general direction of the Director for the Office for Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action/Title IX, performing advanced and confidential administrative support duties, including composing complex correspondence, meeting minutes, financials, reports, and obtaining factual information requiring knowledge of policies/procedures of assigned and work-related areas. Critical to this role’s success will be superior verbal and written communication skills, excellent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Required QualificationsGraduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of and experience in computers and computer software applications listed below and other topics and procedures relevant to administrative assisting.
- Knowledge of best practices in communications, correspondence, and appropriate matters of etiquette in various settings or vehicles.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution basics.
- Knowledge in research (including legal research) preferred; knowledge in EO, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, and other similar laws preferred.
- Skilled in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, publishing, social media, spreadsheets, e-mail, databases and presentations.
- Skilled in office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
- Skilled in the preparation and interpretation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, composition and proofreading skills.
- Strong typing and notes taking skills.
- Superior organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy, including the ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
- Ability to perform a variety of administrative support tasks and to handle highly sensitive information with discretion and tact with minimum supervision.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative and anticipate course of action to appropriatly facilitate problem resolution.
- Ability to portray a professional demeanor and poise at all times.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions.
- Ability to take accurate and comprehensive meeting notes.
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to meet and serve effectively people of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to coordinate and assist in the preparation and monitoring of departmental financial transactions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of self-initiative with strong work commitment.
Experience working for higher education institutions especially in Legal, Equal Employment Opportunity, Title IX, or Human Resource office is preferred.
Physical RequirementsWork is performed in a normal office environment.
