The Student Food Service Worker I is responsible for performing routine tasks related to the food service area such as prepare fresh food items, cashiering, and stocking. Performs customer service functions, such as greeting customers, operating cash registers, which includes completing cash and credit transactions, keeping kitchen and dining room area clean and neat. Position may at times be required to work with various kitchen equipment, empty trash cans, fill condiment dispensers, vacuum, and other duties as assigned.

Student works under direct supervision exercising moderate independent judgment. May be selected to work at one of our Dining Halls or Retail locations.

Required Qualifications

Excellent Customer Service Skills. Be able to work 20 hours a week. Must be a current UWG student enrolled for at least 6 credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA. Will need to complete additional cashier training within the first 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Food Service Experience. Ability to work well with others.
Ability to give excellent customer service.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.

FWS Student Assistant I positions include standard, routine duties which require minimal prior training or experience. Most often, FWS Student Assistant I positions work with other students and are frequently supervised. This position does require the candidate to have Federal Work Study.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.
