Direct, implement and provide leadership for all components and initiatives related to career development; career advising/counseling, administering/interpreting assessments, career/major exploration and internship/job search preparation. Serve as a liaison to assigned academic colleges/schools to build collaborations with faculty, staff, academic administrators, and student organizations in order to integrate career development and exploration into curricular and co-curricular programming. Conduct individual and group advising sessions to assess career direction, interview proficiency, industry knowledge and communication skills. Supervise and lead career development professionals and paraprofessional staff to address the career-related needs of all students, regardless of major, background, or areas of interest; effectively assist students in transitioning from UWG to post-graduate opportunities (work, volunteering, graduate school, fellowships). Assist the Director with strategic planning and assessment; prepare monthly and annual reports on student career development data. The selected candidate will have strong analytical, planning and time management skills and the ability to assist the Director with oversight of internal processes and overall management of the department. Participate in appropriate professional development activies, and assure the ongoing professional development of all personnel within assigned areas of responsiblity. The Associate Director position will serve as a member of the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SAEM) extended leadership team.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualification: Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or closely related field. Minimum four (4) years of progressive work experience in a University/College career services department, human resources, advising or counseling setting. Minimum of two (2) years of professional level supervisory experience. Demonstrated proficiency designing and delivering presentations on career related topics. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience using online job management systems such as Symplicity, CSO or e-Recruiting. Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in computer software including Microsoft Office; MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and/or Access to track, analyze and report relevant data. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with: Five (5) or more years of relevant experience. Current certification in administering the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, StrengthsQuest or closely related career assessments; Master Career Counselor (MCC); strategic planning, project management, and event management experience; experience with outcomes assessment and evaluation strategies; ability to assess and report student-learning outcomes; strong proficiency and experience using technology and social media as it relates to delivery and marketing of career services (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn); experience using website management systems, such as OpenText, CMS, or similar programs to update the Career Services website on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications Salary $54,216 minimum - $74,208 midpoint Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Must be capable of lifting 10 pounds.Must be able to travel to satellite campuses, attend professional development opportunities and attend events. Must possess the willingness and ability to work an unconventioanl work schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Work to include some evenings and weekends.
