The EHRA Recruitment and Employment Specialist position works collaboratively in the HR Department and across the campus, providing outstanding customer service in all aspects of responsibility. The position reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition and is responsible for confidential and highly complex duties; the scope of responsibility is significant; and the job function has considerable impact within and outside of the department. The position ensures work performed is accurate and complies with a wide variety of HR policies and procedures. Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed is paramount. The position also participates in the monitoring, and maintenance of processes, procedures and systems. The position must maintain a broad understanding of HR policies including OSHR (Office of State Human Resources), UNCW, and UNCSO (University of North Carolina Systems Office) administrative policies and share this knowledge with others. The position requires use of sound judgment in dealing with hiring managers, search committees, and administrative support personnel. The position must also demonstrate an ability to initiate and manage projects independently.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Graduation from a four year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position

Ability to learn policies and procedures affecting program area, analyze, and explain how those policies and procedures apply to a customer’s unique needs

Ability to assess existing programs and processes and make recommendations for improvements and expansion

Ability to identify and understand issues and problems and resolve most of them independently

Ability to analyze, maintain, and monitor data and compile reports

Ability to explain how to use software, databases and related forms and tools to clients

Experience working with diverse groups of people at various levels within the organization

Familiarity with Cascade web management system (or other website management systems)

Familiarity with the University systems

Experience with the People Admin Applicant Tracking System or other comparable system

Possess excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills

Proficiency with computers, skilled in using the internet for work related research and various software and programs such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

Possess high integrity and demonstration of respect for others

Able to demonstrate excellent follow-up and organizational skills

Ability to work under pressure and cope with ambiguity in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

Ability to organize and prioritize duties within a fast-paced deadline driven environment

Results oriented with strong sense of initiative and urgency

Proven ability to work with clients at all levels within an organization

Ability to analyze issues, shift priorities, and ensure assigned tasks are successfully managed in a timely manner

Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and complete work with precision

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Prefer recruitment experience and demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare graphs, and write reports

Experience with Cascade web management system (or other website management systems)
