Nature of Work

The College of Coastal Georgia seeks qualified applicants for the position of Part-time Instructor of Astronomy. This is a part-time teaching position in the Department of Natural Sciences which is housed within the School of Arts and Sciences. Part-time faculty are assigned classes on an as-needed basis.

Essential Duties

The successful candidate will teach Astronomy lecture and laboratory, maintain office hours, and adhere to all College of Coastal Georgia and University System of Georgia policies.

Minimum Qualifications and Training

A Master’s degree in Astronomy or a Master’s degree with eighteen semester hours at the graduate level in the subject area to be taught are required.

Preferred Qualifications and Training

Applicants who demonstrate evidence of recent, successful post-secondary teaching experience, have a strong background in astronomy, and work cooperatively with other faculty are strongly preferred.
