This position requires teaching upper division undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, conducting research leading to quality peer-reviewed publications, and providing service to students, the department, the profession, and the university.Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates for the assistant professor position must have (or anticipate receiving by August 2019) a Ph.D. in accounting, D.B.A. with a major in accounting, J.D. with an L.L.M. in tax or a masters in accounting, or a related terminal degree from an accredited university. The successful candidate must posses qualifications required of Scholarly Academics (SA) under AACSB and Texas State standards (available at http://gato-docs.its.txstate.edu/jcr:4d901af0-7914-4c9a-8f47-faeaadeab807/PPS%205%2007.pdf).
Appointment at the associate professor rank requires demonstrated excellence in teaching and service accomplishments and an established research record.
In addition to the requirements for associate professor, appointment at the professor rank requires extensive and sustained record of quality research as well as an outstanding record of service, leadership, and willingness to mentor junior faculty.
All areas of accounting will be considered. Candidates must be able to teach two subject areas at both the upper division and graduate level.
The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards.Preferred Qualifications
Certification and/or professional work experience in at least one teaching area. Although all areas of teaching will be considered, applicants with a demonstrated ability to teach managerial/cost, auditing, accounting information systems, or tax are preferred.Application Procedures
