The Department of Agriculture at Texas State University invites applications for a 9 month, tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level with the expectation of teaching one summer term. The position is primarily a teaching and research appointment in agricultural economics/business and quantitative techniques with other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

i) An earned Ph.D. in agricultural economics, natural resource economics, aquaculture economics, or closely related discipline;
ii) Extensive knowledge of quantitative methods, applied econometrics, market modeling, and data analytics;
iii) Experience working with interdisciplinary subject matter and teams;
iv) Documented evidence of willingness to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching programs;
v) Documental evidence of the potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program that complements existing programs in the Department of Agriculture at Texas State, such as economics of food production and consumption, agricultural and trade policies, small producers initiative, and integrated and sustainable agriculture.

Preferred Qualifications

i) Research publications in the peer-reviewed journal (s);
ii) Experience in writing grant proposals; and
iii) Previous teaching and/or research experience.
