Instructors – Upward Bound (Academic Year/Summer Program)

Job Summary:

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants to teach English, Math (includes Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus), Science (all areas), Test Preparation, Reading, Spanish, French, Art, Photography, Chorus, Dance, Drama, and Computer Technology.
Also prepares lesson plans, provides instruction, pre and post testing/evaluations; assists with program activities and administering final exams. Classroom management of students is an integral part of these responsibilities; positions are temporary, part time without fringe benefits.
May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with class load, qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree required in secondary education (subject area) or related subject area; Teaching Certificate and/or Community College or four year college teaching experience. Excellent classroom management, and written/oral communication skills essential. Experience working with economically challenged/first generation college bound students. Experiences in TRIO preferred.
