The Cary Wellington Distinguished Chair in Business Analytics

The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY seeks applications and nominees for the Cary Wellington Chair in Business Analytics. The successful candidate must be eligible to hold an appointment as a tenured full professor. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or foreign degree equivalent in Information Systems, Business Analytics or a closely related discipline. Candidates must demonstrate having achieved the following in a minimum of at least seven (7) years of professional academic experience: research leadership; a track record of successfully mentoring and collaborating with faculty and doctoral students; evidence of outstanding teaching; a solid record of program building; and a willingness to play a key role in the growth, development and governance of new programs in the school.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach in the new Master’s Program in Business Analytics. We are seeking individuals with research and teaching interest in applying business analytics to supply chain, decision making (consumer or managerial) and health care domains. Strong econometric, analytical modeling and statistical analysis skills are required. We are also interested in candidates with strong technical skills in areas such as data management. The successful candidate will have duties that include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in their departments, developing and maintaining robust programs of research and scholarship, as well as service to the department, the School of Management and to Rensselaer.

Rensselaer is ranked among the top 50 national universities. The Lally school offers undergraduate, masters, MBA and Ph.D. programs in business related disciplines including information systems. Approximately 350 undergraduate students, 180 MBA/MS students and 25 Ph.D. students are currently enrolled in the business school. The Lally School is a small business school with a focus on the intersection of management and technology.
