Looking for a part-time counseling position with a great team? The Counseling and Career Development Center at MVCC is seeking three part-time counselors to perform a variety of counseling services to facilitate the academic, career and personal growth and development of college students. Duties include providing individual and group counseling, facilitating workshops and seminars, teaching credit courses (Human Potentials and Career Planning) and consulting with faculty and staff regarding student concerns.

Education/Experience

Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or related area with experience, training, and knowledge in individual/group counseling and assessment related to the academic, career and personal development of college students. Candidates must possess an LPC, LCPC, LSW, or LCSW license that is valid in the state of Illinois.

Qualifications

The position requires a strong commitment to promoting student learning, student development and student success through continuously refocusing and expanding counseling services including the use of technology to meet the changing needs of an increasingly diverse student population. Candidates should have academic training and or experience with counseling multicultural and linguistically diverse students. Individuals with fluency in more than one language, particularly in Spanish, are encouraged to apply. Candidates with career counseling experience, facilitating career assessments, and/or certification in administering career assessments are highly encouraged to apply.
