Description

In this position, student staff assist with carrying-out all operations of Mail, Receiving-Shipping Services at LCC's Downtown Campus, including the following:

Process, sign and coordinate daily incoming and outgoing mail deliveries Be responsible for miscellaneous pick-up and processing of packages for LCC Customers Coordinate deliveries with part-time staff; arrange equipment repairs and tagging assets for inventory of grants and/or items over specific amount(s) Perform other duties as assigned Additional Qualifications:

Must have current Michigan Driver's License with clean record Applicants must be physically able to work in all types of weather conditions and handle up to 70 lbs. with assistance Must be physically able to use stairs and walk on uneven walkways Must be able to work 4 hour blocks in the morning (8 - 12 or 9 - 1) or afternoon (12 - 4 or 1 - 5) schedule Must be able to follow oral and written instructions Must provide excellent customer service to campus customers and keep communication lines open Must have basic computer skills Work with a team and be able to effectively prioritize tasks while functioning in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience

The following requirements apply each semester, in order to maintain eligibility and continue working as a student employee:

- Enrolled & actively attending is required to maintain employment eligibility (i.e. minimum LCC credit hours by semester):

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits

- International students with an F-1 visa and valid I-20 issued by LCC must meet the following minimum enrollment/credit requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS) regulations:

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits
- Minimum 2.0 GPA or have approval to waive requirement unless it is the student’s first semester of enrollment at LCC

- Must be at least 18 years of age and/or a high school graduate who is at least 17 with a valid, signed work permit

Hours per Week: Up to 25 Hours

Hourly Wage: $9.60
