Job Summary

The Drafting adjunct instructor reports to the Business and Technology Department Chair or designee. The Adjunct Drafting Instructor duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to classroom and lab instruction of computer aided drafting, provide professional leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, and participate in professional development activities. Teaching assignment may include day and evening classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree from an accredited college is required. Five years of recent experience in the field and/or relevant teaching experience. Experience and/or certifications may possibly be substituted for a portion of the education requirement. Ability to understand the teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner. Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. Ability to clearly communicate. Must comply with established College rules and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from accredited college
AutoCAD certification.

Lamar State College - Port Arthur, a member of The Texas State University System, is an open-access, comprehensive public two-year college offering quality and affordable instruction leading to associate degrees and a variety of certificates.
