Primary Purpose of PositionThe Programs Manager for the Learning Center will assist the Director of the Learning Center with leadership and supervision of a program with 90-150 peer educators, currently organized into four programs, to facilitate peer tutoring and collaborative study sessions. The Learning Center provides academic support via a drop-in tutoring center, a Math Lab for hybrid math classes, the Supplemental Instruction program, and PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) sessions. Position will assist with recruitment and hiring; provide administrative support for program record-keeping, assessments, and evaluations; coordinate program logistics, provide statistical assessments, and assist with training and supervision of student employees.

Promote the Learning Center and its programs, assist with recruiting, training, and supervising student employees. Provide prompt and courteous customer service to Learning Center clients: address student questions via email, phone, and in-person, in reference to our services or other University related questions. Manage program information and track attendance, course perseverance, success, retention, and graduation of participating students. Communicate program information to interested departments and constituents (Week of Welcome, 1st Year Seminar, Orientations, BSP, etc.). Provide ongoing assessments of student attendance and performance and evaluations of current programs. Work with the tutoring teams to coordinate trainings, events and CRLA Level progressions and CRLA certification. Advise and support the Undergraduate Learning Assistant team.

Identify, recruit, contact, and coordinate potential Peer Tutors and SI Leaders and maintain records related to application and placement status. Assist with assigning Peer Tutors and ULAs to course tutoring. Provide research with recent student progression and success to identify target classes to support. Maintain and track tutor employee training levels and CRLA Certification requirements.

Assist with developing Peer Tutor and Math Lab ULA schedules; identifies gaps in scheduling. Oversee and maintain Learning Center records related to courses, student attendance, CRLA Level tutor trainings, tutor accountability, and data used for assessment. Create/update as needed: hiring forms, training documents, and other program material. Utilize Data Management system “Grades First” and Qualtrics survey response data to analyze, interpret, present, and organize results for all Learning Center programs. Assist with the supervision and accountability of two graduate assistants, 50 plus Peer Tutors and ULAs. Assist with marketing academic support services to students.

Minimum Requirements Proposed Minimum Experience/EducationBachelor’s Degree with related experience with data analysis, leadership/training, and/or supervisory roles.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience.
