Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing

 

Wilkes University, in partnership with the search firm of Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing. This newly structured and elevated position reports directly to the President of the University. The Vice President serves as a member of the president’s cabinet and participates in institution-wide strategic planning and policy development. The Vice President will be responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the University’s strategic enrollment initiatives and outcomes while providing vision and leadership to the University in all areas of enrollment management.

 

The University and the University Community:  Wilkes University is an independent, non-sectarian Masters I institution of higher education with approximately 2,200 students at the undergraduate level and over 2,300 full time equivalent students at the graduate and first professional levels.  Its institutional focus is on developing strong mentoring relationships with each of its students and contributing to the economic development of Northeastern Pennsylvania.  The University is located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a revitalized city that is located on the Susquehanna River and is within two and one-half hours driving distance of New York City and Philadelphia.  Wilkes was founded in 1933, became designated as a University in 1990, and currently offers degrees and programs in six colleges and schools.

 

The Position: The Vice President will oversee the Offices of: Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, International Admissions, Marketing, Enrollment Processing and Operations, and Student Financial Services. She/he will provide leadership in designing the University’s enrollment strategies and is expected to make sophisticated use of high-quality data-driven, evidence-based enrollment decisions, while utilizing best practices in enrollment management. This is accomplished while inspiring others throughout campus to work and serve collaboratively in achieving enrollment goals while improving retention and graduation rates. The Vice President must be innovative and adept at promoting current academic and student-centered programs, as well as bringing forth recommendations for new recruitment ideas, marketing strategies, financial aid leveraging strategies, retention strategies, tuition net revenue strategies, and academic programs that match the University’s mission, resources, and market demand.

 

Qualifications:  To be considered for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing, the ideal candidate should have the following:

  • 8 years of experience in enrollment management within higher education;
  • Master’s Degree (Doctorate preferred); 
  • Considerable experience in data-driven enrollment operations that result in sustained growth in enrollment, diversity, academic quality, and increased retention and graduation rates;
  • A strong understanding of marketing and financial aid leveraging;
  • A strong understanding of Graduate and International Admissions recruitment, marketing, and enrollment;
  • Experience in implementing and improving a comprehensive enrollment plan;
  • The ability to work with faculty, alumni, currently enrolled students, the administration, and other partners in bringing together a University-wide enrollment management structure and environment.
