Description:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will carry out research, either developed independently or in collaboration with the supervisor and other collaborators on topics ranging from Basin and Range geochronology, geomorphology, landscape evolution, to interactions between paleoclimate and tectonics. The candidate may also pursue other research after consultation/permission of the supervisor. This position is expected to start in Jan., 2019. Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. PhD in Earth & Environmental Sciences, or equivalent geoscience PhD
2. Experience in writing scientific papers and proposal preparation/submission
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
1. Able to work both independently and as part of a group
2. Able to interact with other postdoctoral researchers, as well as graduate students & collaborators
3. Excellent organizational skills
4. Knowledge of the geology, geomorphology and paleo-climate of the Basin and Range extensional province
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Familiarity with landscape, Quaternary geochronology and tectonics of the Great Basin and other areas in the Basin & Range Province
