The Department of Human Nutrition and Hospitality Management at The University of Alabama invites applicants for one full-time, tenure track, nine-month Assistant/Associate Professor position, with a start date of August, 2019.

The Hospitality Management (HM) Program at The University of Alabama was established in 1985 as part of the Department of Human Nutrition and Hospitality Management, College of Human Environmental Sciences. The program offers a variety of courses designed to develop the knowledge and abilities required for a career in hospitality management, meetings and event management, food and beverage operations, tourism management, and sport management. There are approximately 400 students currently enrolled in the on-campus and online programs.
Founded in 1831 as the state’s first public college, The University of Alabama is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service. U. A. is also a leader among public universities nationwide in the enrollment of National Merit Scholars with more than 500 students currently enrolled. Located in Tuscaloosa Alabama, U. Job Description:
Teach required and elective courses that may include but are not limited to hospitality management, sport management, entertainment, event management, and/or tourism at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Conduct research relevant to hospitality and tourism disciplines. Serve students, the Department, the College, and the University in a supporting and
professional manner.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Hospitality Management, Sport Management, or closely related field. A doctoral degree at the time of appointment; demonstrate evidence of or potential to publish in leading academic journals and attract external funding. Teaching experience, extensive work experience, and sport management background preferred.
