Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in International Relations. Pursue an active research agenda leading to publications of peer-reviewed articles and books in appropriate venues. Provide service to the university community and professional organizations.

The Department of Political Science invites applications at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level in International Relations beginning August 16, 2019 with a focus in international law. We welcome applications from scholars using any combination of positivist, normative, critical, formal, or interpretive methods and working on topics on global governance, such as international humanitarian law, human rights, law of armed conflict, environmental issues, international legal history, and indigenous sovereignty.

A completed Ph.D. in political science is required for appointment. The successful candidate should have a strong research agenda with a clear plan for peer-reviewed scholarly publications. The candidate would also be expected to take an active role in the department’s graduate program.The University of Alabama is a student-centered research university and the flagship campus of the University of Alabama system.
