The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the design and modeling of power electronics applications based on wide band-gap (WBG) semiconductors. We are especially interested in candidates who specialize in one of the following areas: (1) characterization and modeling of packaging parasitics and associated impacts, (2) behavioral and/or physics-based modeling of WBG power devices, and (3) design and optimization of gate-drive and ancillary circuitry for SiC-based converters operating at medium-voltage levels (1-10 kV).

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related field by the date of appointment and must show the potential to establish a quality research program, collaborate effectively with other faculty, and excel in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
