Job Description:

• Provides short-term (12 sessions or less) personal counseling to HCC students.
• Refers students needing long-term personal counseling to appropriate community services.
• Serves as case manager for critical cases that need to be referred to outside agencies and provide interim counseling until those services can be provided.
• Assists with and follows up on critical cases that required hospitalization or suicide assessments
• Handles crisis intervention for students and provides personal counseling sessions as needed
• Assists with Academic Support, Counseling and Career Services departmental events as needed.

Requirements:

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (e.g., Psychology, Education)
• Two (2) years of counseling experience that has been supervised by licensed mental health professionals; and Licensed (or license-eligible) as a Social Worker, Counselor, or Psychologist.
• Experience with diverse populations highly desirable
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Regular attendance is a requirement of this job

Additional Information:

Hours Per Week: 10 hours
Work Schedule: Thursdays & Friday; times flexible
Compensation: $25.00/hour
Grade: Part time, no benefits
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
