Job Description:


The Science, Engineering and Technology Division is seeking an outstanding faculty member to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab classes, develop curriculum, engage and advise students and serve as a course coordinator, which includes hiring, training and supervising adjunct faculty. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to teaching excellence (HCC Instructional Excellence Procedure: https://www.howardcc.edu/about-us/policies-procedures/chapter-10/10.07.01-Instructional-Excellence.html) and integrates active learning strategies appropriately into their teaching. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in professional engagement with students outside of the classroom. Examples include, but are not limited to, serving as a faculty advisor for a student organization or serving as a faculty mentor for student undergraduate research. The faculty member will also engage in general college responsibilities within and outside the division. Applicants must be willing to teach day and/or evening classes. Applicants are required to have a Master's Degree or higher in Anatomy, Physiology, Biology or related field and college level teaching experience teaching anatomy and/or physiology.



Requirements:


Essential requirements:


  1. Minimum of a Master's Degree in Anatomy, Biology, Physiology or related field.
  2. College level experience teaching anatomy and/or physiology.

Preferred Requirements:


  1. Experience in curriculum development
  2. Experience with full time and/or adjunct faculty coordination.
  3. Experience in mentoring students in undergraduate research
  4. Experience teaching human anatomy and/or physiology at a college level.


Additional Information:


Hours Per Week: 37.5
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Compensation: Starting salary of $49,167 - $63,000 but commensurate with experience plus excellent health insurance, paid leave and tuition reimbursement
Grade: to be determined
FLSA Status: Exempt
