McPherson College seeks an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. This is an entry-level, tenure-track, nine-month appointment that starts in August 2019. A Ph.D. in Exercise Science, Human Performance, Kinesiology, Health Education, or related field is expected. Candidates with a master’s degree in a relevant field may be considered.
The successful candidate will teach and develop coursework in exercise science/physical education in response to departmental needs and his/her areas of expertise; advise undergraduate health science, physical education, and sports management majors; supervise field-based clinical and internship experiences; serve on committees within the department and college; and engage in professional service and scholarly activities. Possible courses include History and Philosophy of Sport, Organization and Administration of Physical Education, Methods for Teaching Physical Education, and other physical education/exercise science courses.
The right candidate will have demonstrated potential for teaching excellence, will hold the ability to function collegially in a small college environment, and will have a commitment to the liberal arts.
