Position Summary

The School of Hospitality Business in the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University is seeking applications for an academic year, tenure track, Assistant Professor position with 55% research, 40% teaching, and 5% service responsibilities. It is expected the person in this position will teach undergraduate and graduate hospitality business courses (including hospitality finance, hospitality valuations, and hospitality accounting), conduct scholarly research and publish in Tier 1 and other refereed academic journals and industry-focused journals; advise undergraduate and graduate students; serve on School, College, University, and industry committees. Teaching responsibilities may change, within the applicant’s area of expertise, based on the needs of The School of Hospitality Business. This is a nine-month academic year appointment, subject to annual review and renewal. Additional summer teaching opportunities are possible with additional compensation. Candidate must have a Ph.D. degree and a record of excellent teaching skills at the undergraduate level to a diverse student body. The position will start August 16, 2019.

Required Degree

Doctorate - Finance, Accounting, or Economics/Applied Economics

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. in relevant area of concentration/discipline with at least one degree in finance, accounting, or economics/applied economics. Dissertation to be completed before May 2019. Record of research and publications commensurate with position level.
