Position Summary

Exceptional candidates are sought in applied probability and related areas. Priority areas include exact distribution theory, statistical inference for stochastic processes, financial mathematics, stochastic control, optimal stopping, and time series analysis. A typical candidate will be an early- or mid-career scholar with an exceptional record of publications in first-tier probability and statistics journals and/or of funding from federal sources, in several of these areas. A nationally established record of excellence is essential. Evidence of international reach is desirable, and strength in this area is essential for the rank of Full Professor. Exceptional candidates in other areas of the statistical sciences and probability will be considered. Evidence of past work and/or plans for real-world applications including data analysis will be appreciated. Potential areas of application include, but are not limited to, the environmental sciences and climate change, human medicine, operations research, quantitative finance, and actuarial science.

Minimum Requirements

Exceptional research program, evidence of high-quality teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate level statistics courses.
