Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Department of Chemical Engineering

Job no: 493267
Work type: Regular full time
Location: Glassboro, New Jersey
Categories: Faculty - College of Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Rowan University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank only. Successful candidates will develop a vigorous independent research program. The Chemical Engineering Department has a well-established undergraduate education program, and it is now seeking to build a dynamic graduate research component. The new faculty member will be part of a nucleus of research-focused faculty to be hired over the next few years. With this support, the candidate is to develop and sustain a nationally recognized externally funded research program, which utilizes and supports Rowan’s multidisciplinary engineering clinics and graduate programs.

A plan for a research program that specifically addresses the above characteristics and enhances the new research mission of the Department needs to be included in applicants’ research statements. Demonstrated ability in writing proposals, presenting and publishing, and mentoring students is desirable. A doctorate in chemical engineering or related field is required for appointment. The starting date is September 1st 2019.
