The Department of Art + Design in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at UMass Dartmouth seeks instructors for the Spring 2019 semester to teach one section of AXD 225 Textiles Boot Camp, one section of AXD 228 Mastering Repeat Patterns, and one section of AXD 328 Screenprinting for Fashion and Textiles.

There is potential for Fall 2019 teaching opportunities as well, and the department will be establishing a pool of potential applicants. The Spring 2019 courses will be taught in person during the day. They are not night classes.

Minimum Qualifications: A BFA in Textiles/Fibers or closely related field, a minimum of 3 years of current professional working experience in the field, and teaching experience. Specialized areas of experience will be considered on a course-by-course basis according to course offerings.

Preferred Qualifications: An MFA or similar terminal degree for the field, extensive progressive work experience or exhibitions, familiarity with the current textiles industry and broad range of textile materials and techniques. Ideal candidates will also have evidence of innovative professional activity and cross-disciplinary practices, as well as community engagement.
