Job Description:


Multiple positions are available, including Lab Monitors and Office Assistants.


POSITION: Lab Monitor


Hours: 5 - 7 per week, some shifts scheduled evenings and Sundays


Qualifications:


  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Dress for the weather
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable, prompt, courteous, honest
  • Able to work unsupervised

Duties:


  • Check assigned campus labs for hardware and software issues
  • Maintain printers and refill paper supplies or toners
  • Keep lab areas neat and free of paper clutter
  • Report "Out of Order" signs
  • Report unresolved problems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION: Office Assistant


Hours: 5 - 7 per week, Monday - Friday between 8 am and 5 pm


Qualifications:


  • Aptitude for use of computers in an office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable, organized, trustworthy, courteous, reliable, honest, patient
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds

Duties:


  • Provide first level software and hardware support for faculty, staff, and students by telephone or walk ins, such as: network log-in, e-mail, internet access, Blackboard, WebAdvisor, wireless connection of mobile devices
  • Log all questions via walk-ins or phone calls
  • Report unresolved problems to a staff member
  • Assist IT Services staff members as needed
  • Perform scanning, printing and general office work
  • Manage items established for checkout
  • Assist in technical area as needed
  • Check student computer labs as needed
  • Develop computer skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:


Must be a current Central student that has been awarded work study by financial aid.


Pre-employment paperwork must be on file with the human resources office before employment begins.
