The department of Health, Fitness and Sport at Wittenberg University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. This is a full-time, tenure-track position, depending upon candidate's qualifications and experience, beginning August, 2019. Applicants should be able to demonstrate teaching excellence and specialization in exercise science, including exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, exercise for special populations, biomechanics, motor learning, strength and conditioning, care and prevention, and related areas. The successful candidate will work with department members to further develop the exercise science program as well as contribute to other programs within the HFS department. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate college-level teaching effectiveness, show expertise in the fields mentioned above, and a exhibit a commitment to a liberal arts education.
A Ph.D. in a related field is required; ABD doctoral candidates will be considered with completion of degree by August, 2019. Desired certifications include: ACSM Exercise Physiologist, NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
