Laboratory Personal Protective Equipment Coordinator

Under the general supervision by the Manager, Research Safety and Occupational health, the incumbent serves as the campus Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Coordinator. The primary emphasis of the job is to coordinate the distribution of lab coats, safety eye-wear and other personal protective equipment to campus research laboratories. The incumbent is responsible for training researchers in safety issues related to personal protective equipment. He/She performs routine and impromptu audits of ppe use and use practices to ensure safe procedures are properly followed and follows up with management as appropriate. He/She leads the EH&S ppe program effort for all areas involving hazardous materials, coordinating review among other safety professionals in EH&S and ensures all reviews are completed in a timely manner. The incumbent manages the monthly billing reports and ensures the accuracy of billing through systematic and routine audits. This individual will collaborate with campus faculty and staff in the efficient and integrated delivery of personal protective equipment including training to the campus community. The incumbent also performs other basic lab safety tasks including but not limited to PPE consultations, general laboratory inspections and addressing basic lab safety questions.He/she will schedule and conduct independent laboratory safety surveys and inspections to identify and evaluate a wide variety of potential hazards in the work place. employee performs a variety of duties in the support of a comprehensive laboratory safety program.

Salary: Range $54,212.00 - $63,962.00
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Career Position.
Must be able to pass a medical exam to wear a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus.
Must possess a valid California Driver License and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
Final candidate subject to background check.
