Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.\r\n\r\nFaculty Responsibilities:   Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching, curriculum development, student advising; professional attainment; and service to department, college, university, and the community.\r\n\r\nSpecific Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate English courses in UMHB's Academic Core, including First-Year Composition (FYC) courses and sophomore-level literature. Full-time instructors will teach 15 hours per semester. Instructors are also required to comply with responsibilities typical for instructional faculty: office hours, attendance at required meetings, etc.\r\n \r\n\r\nQualifications:  Master's degree in English is required; preference will be given to candidates with a PhD. Candidates must show strong evidence of teaching FYC courses as well as sophomore-level literature. Special consideration will be given to candidate with additional background in teaching online or hybrid FYC and literature courses. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
