Trinity Christian College seeks a full-time Maintenance Worker for the Physical Plant. The Maintenance Worker repairs and maintains buildings and mechanical equipment by performing functions of various trades, e.g. electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and others. Responsible for general mechanical and preventative maintenance, including inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment and facilities.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • General Maintenance and repairs including, but not limited to:
  • plumbing
  • electrical
  • door and lock hardware
  • HVAC
  • Repair potholes on streets and parking lots
  • Snow removal and salting
  • Snow equipment maintenance
  • Work with various contractors as needed
  • On-call for emergencies 24/7
  • Assist with event setup
  • Thorough dorm maintenance during summer months
  • Operating a forklift, skid steer, lift, tractor and various pieces of snow equipment when required

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, as well as a valid U.S. driver’s license. 

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Additional qualifications: 

  • Ability to use Microsoft products
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs to various types of equipment
  • Ability to run a forklift, skid steer, lift, tractor and various pieces of snow equipment
