Job Details
The Department of Agriculture at Texas State University invites applications for a 9 month, lecturer position with a potential opportunity of teaching one summer term based on departmental need and student demand. The position is primarily a teaching appointment in Animal Science with other duties as assigned. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Required QualificationsThe applicant must have:
i) An earned Master’s degree in Animal Science or closely related discipline;
ii) Documented evidence of strong teaching abilities and willingness / experience in teaching a broad and diverse range of undergraduate courses in animal science;
iii) Working knowledge of production systems for the major farmed animal species;
iv) Extensive knowledge of the scientific principles that govern animal science (including production science, genetics, nutrition, and physiology); and
v) Demonstrated ability to be an effective team player and to interact well with students, peers, constituent groups, and the general public.
i) An earned Ph.D. in animal science or closely related discipline; and
ii) Several years of experience teaching agriculture-based courses at the high school/undergraduate level.
