These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees. Employment in these positions will require, as a condition of employment, payment of monthly union dues or a monthly fair share fee in lieu of dues through automatic payroll deduction.

Portland Community College will hire only United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States. All new employees will be required to complete the designated Immigration Service Employers Verification I-9 form. Responsibilities/Duties -Plan and provide assistive services. Conduct interviews, advise and orient student on accessing appropriate support services. Administer tests and analyze diagnostic test results.
-Provide counseling and guidance services to students using judgment consistent with the American Association for Counseling and Development.
-Serve as a consultant on disability issues, develop and conduct seminars and trainings.
-Acquire/ maintain knowledge of current assistive technologies; introduce students and staff to their use.
-Collaborate with outside agencies regarding clients/students and remain current in field through a variety of professional development activities, laws, regulations, and initiatives.
-Facilitate transition of high school students needing accommodations.
-Use appropriate office/computer/communications technology to accomplish job functions.
-Assist in the evaluation of learning problems through the use of tests, counseling, and consultation.
-Provide group counseling sessions, seminars, workshops, and career or personal development classes.
-Advise student on academic progress, course scheduling, college regulations, and registration processes.
-Assist management in revising, updating, and evaluating career exploration and testing programs.
-Provide consultative support services to college staff.
-Attend and participate in college-wide, campus, department and program meetings and activities.
-Provide services to students in a manner which does not discriminate as to race, creed, religion, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, sexual preference or marital status. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master's degree in Counseling & Guidance, Counseling Psychology, Psychology, Educational Psychology, Social Work, or related area required.

Experience: One year of experience providing academic, personal and career development counseling in a post-secondary setting.

*Instructors shall have earned required academic credential at a regionally accredited institution. Special/Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.
Understanding of ADA/504 laws in post-secondary setting.
Experience in post secondary education counseling students/adults who experience disability. Additional Posting Information To be considered as a candidate, all of the following materials must be submitted:
