These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation Employees. Employment in these positions will require, as a condition of employment, payment of monthly union dues or a monthly fair share fee in lieu of dues through automatic payroll deduction.
Portland Community College will hire only United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States. All new employees will be required to complete the designated Immigration Service Employers Verification I-9 form. Responsibilities/Duties -Instruct students, using approved course outcome guides developed by college-wide subject area Faculty.
-Assess and grade student achievement of learning outcomes.
-Use student feedback to improve teaching.
-Be available for a reasonable amount of student contact to respond to questions and to resolve problems related to the course through time spent before or after class or through telephone or e-mail exchanges or office hours where facilities and schedules permit.
-Attend one staff meeting per term as directed by the College and when notified by the Division Dean.
-Provide additional hours of course-related student conferences or tutoring over and above classroom instruction when courses are designated as requiring such. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

AAS degree in Automotive service and repair from an accredited institution.
OR
A combination of Automotive teaching experience in an accredited institution and/or Automotive service and repair experience in an Automotive service and repair business equal to 5 years.

And the following specific qualifications for certain classes:

- Introduction to Automotive Unit 8 AM 108 ? successfully passed any three ASE examinations. ASE examinations must be kept current.
- Heating and Air conditioning Unit 6 AM 106 ? successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 electrical/Electronic Systems and A7 Heating and Air Conditioning. ASE examinations must be kept current.
- Engine Repair Unit 1 AM 101 ? successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems and A1 Engine Repair. ASE examinations must be kept current.
- Electrical 1 Unit 2 AM 102, Electrical 2 Unit 12 AM 112, and Electrical 3 Unit 22 AM 122 ? successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems. ASE examinations must be kept current.
- Engine Performance 1 Unit 3 AM 103 ? successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical/electronic systems and A8 Engine performance. ASE examinations must be kept current
- Engine Performance 1 Unit 3 AM 103, Engine Performance 2 Unit 13 AM 113, Engine Performance 3 Unit 23 AM 123, Engine
- Performance 4 Unit 33 AM 133, Engine Performance 5 Unit 43 AM 143, Engine Performance 6 Unit 53 AM 153, - Successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems and A8 Engine Performance. ASE examinations must be kept current.
- Brakes 1 Unit 5 AM 105, Brakes 2 Unit 15 AM 115, and Brakes 3 Unit 25 AM 125 ? Successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical Electronic Systems and A5 Brakes. ASE examinations must be kept current.
- Steering and Suspension Systems 1 Unit 4 AM 104, Steering and Suspension Systems 2 Unit 14 AM 114, Steering and Suspension Systems 3 Unit 24 AM 124, ? Successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems and A4 Suspension and Steering. ASE examinations must be kept current.
- Manual Drive Train and Axles 1 Unit 7 AM 107, Manual Drive Train and Axles 2 Unit 17 AM 117 ? Successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems and A3 Manual Drive Train and Axles, ASE examination must be kep current.
- Automatic Transmission/Transaxle 1 Unit 27 AM 127, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle 2 Unit 37 AM 137 ? Successfully passed the ASE examination for A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems and A2 Automotive Transmission/Transaxle. ASE examinations must be kept current.
