Assistant Professor of Sociology - Tenure Track

The Division of Social Sciences at Mount Saint Mary College (NY) is seeking applications for one (1) tenure track Assistant Professor of Sociology with a start date of January, 2020.


Primary Responsibilities  

Mount Saint Mary College places a priority on the balance of excellence in teaching, dedication to scholarship, commitment to student engagement, as well as service to the college and community. In addition to teaching 12 credit hours (4 courses) of course work each semester, faculty members are expected to maintain active participation in research, provide academic advisement for students, and be involved in college service.

Qualifications   

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Sociology; ABDs with an expectation of degree completion by January, 2020 may be considered. Candidates should have higher education teaching experience and/or the expertise to teach both introductory-level courses and upper-level courses in Sociology. Expertise and/or interest in healthcare institutions is preferred.
