    The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Daemen College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Philosophy. The candidate should have a PhD in philosophy (ABDs will only be considered with evidence of degree completion prior to start date of the position) and should specialize in philosophical and ethical issues facing the Health Care Professions.

    We will be looking for a faculty member who can teach Philosophy courses in a General Education Program and provide support for a variety of departments and programs. The majority of the teaching load will be split between Medical Ethics courses (designed for students studying to be PAs, PTs and nurses) and a variety of core courses. The candidate should also be able to participate in a Medical Humanities minor and teach an Introduction to Medical Humanities course. Teaching load is 3/4. Position begins September 2019. Evidence of teaching excellence and scholarly promise required. Candidates are invited to describe their experiences engaging with diversity (race, gender, sexuality, religion, culture, etc.) in the classroom as part of their teaching statement.
