DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Coordinator of Special Programs works under the direction of the Director of Career Development. Responsible for providing vocational counseling to students; oversee recruitment efforts for graduate school and employment opportunities; work with off-campus agencies and organizations to increase career planning experiences; and submit reports regarding clientele served, programs offered, employer connections serviced, and student placements. Oversee the coordination of special projects, and conduct specialized workshops and career awareness activities for students, staff, and alumni. Perform other duties within the scope of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Counseling, Business Administration or a related discipline is required. Master’s degree preferred. Candidate must be knowledgeable of principles and processes for providing career development services to the students and other individuals; business and management principles to effectively plan events and other activities; and administrative procedures and systems. Applicant must possess excellent communication, computer and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to organize and plan effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate must have two to three years of relevant experience.
