DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing senior level administrative support to the Office of the President. Duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining the President’s calendar and making travel arrangements; preparing agendas, making arrangements and sending out notifications for committee and other meetings; typing employment letters and general correspondence for the Office of the President; and preparing reports for the board meetings. As requested, schedule meetings for the Vice President for Administration; make travel arrangements; and maintain office files and supplies. The Senior Administrative Assistant is responsible for handling confidential information, compiling data for reports, processing requisitions, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and conducting research to assist with the compilation of data or resolution of a problem. Perform any other duties within the scope of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS: An associate degree is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Extensive relevant experience may be substituted for the preferred degree. The successful candidate must have considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures; strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; proficient in database applications and use of the Internet as a research tool; and extensive knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling and language usage. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; interpret policies and procedures; and respond to routine inquiries. Exemplary interpersonal relations and customer service skills required. Must be able to work with minimum supervision, organize projects and assignments, and coordinate a variety of tasks. Previous experience as an executive/senior level secretary or administrative assistant is strongly preferred.
