Job Details
The Division of Nursing and Allied Health has a part time adjunct Phlebotomy instructor position.
Examples of Duties- Providing effective classroom or laboratory instruction using methods and materials appropriate to the subject matter
- Preparing and grading all class assignments and examinations
- Advising, assisting and evaluating students, evaluating learning outcomes.
- Participating in program activities including curriculum planning, development, evaluation, and decision making as well as the development of new teaching-learning methods and materials.
- Contributing to development of program policies and procedures.
- Participation in departmental and college professional activities and/or committees is welcomed, but not required.
- Maintaining accurate and timely student records as required
- Maintaining currency and depth of knowledge in assigned area of responsibility
- Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
- Communicating with excellent written and oral skills in English
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1.) Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two years of professional experience in the field
PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS
2. Licensed physician assistant; OR
3. Registered nurse; OR
4. Respiratory care practitioner with a minimum of 2 years experience in the previous 5 years; OR
5. Certified phlebotomy technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience (6,240 hours) in the previous 5 years or a phlebotomist with a minimum of 3 years of experience (6,240 hours) in the previous 5 years and employed as a phlebotomy instructor, who shall meet certification requirements
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and the campus community.
- The standard rate is $670.00 per contact hour. The rate will vary for independent study courses.
