Multiple benefit-eligible 9-month academic year appointments as an Assistant Professor of Practice in Electrical Engineering beginning as early as August 19, 2019. These positions are renewable pending satisfactory job performance, availability of funds and program needs. These positions are not tenure eligible.

The purpose of these positions is to support an exciting dual degree 3+1 program between Chongqing University of Posts & Telecommunications (CQUPT) and Northern Arizona University (NAU). NAU provides instruction for 8 classes in China during a student’s first three years and then they transfer to NAU for their 4th year. A requirement of the position is that the successful candidates must live and work in Chongqing, China for 12 weeks at a time. Each semester, four NAU faculty teach 2-3 sections of one class each along with associated laboratories at CQUPT. Transportation to Chongqing, a $10,000 additional stipend per semester and housing are provided when teaching at CQUPT in Chongqing. Duties besides teaching in China are required to complete a 17 week semester. During semesters teaching in Flagstaff, the successful candidate will be delivering courses in our regular 17 week semesters on the NAU campus in Arizona.

The primary goal of the program is to prepare CQUPT students to be successful in electrical engineering coursework taught in English in an American-style learning culture. Therefore, the successful candidate will possess excellent English language skills and facility with U.S. engineering pedagogy and best practices.
