New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Business Development Manager reporting to the Director, StartAD.
This role is responsible for the overall strategy, planning, operations and execution of the StartAD partnership strategy aimed at generating partners and sponsors for startAD’s program portfolio designed to accelerate the growth and success of early stage technology companies. This candidate is further responsible for communicating the mission and increasing awareness of StartAD programs with internal and external stakeholders including corporate partners and sponsors. The candidate is expected to generate new partnership and revenue generation opportunities and manage existing partner relationships.
The candidate will further be responsible for working closely with the Director to identify new revenue generation opportunities through new and existing programs and services aligned with the overall mission, vision and strategy of StartAD. This role will also manage, promote and market startAD services and capabilities to external audiences. The position is further responsible for writing business proposals, drafting agreements and negotiating with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Director in developing strategy, planning, execution and metrics for startAD partnership framework. Develop strategic goals and objectives linked to startAD’s KPIs for revenue generation and growth
- Research and engage new corporate and government sector partners that fit startAD’s mission to link global startups with leading UAE partners
- Manage and retain existing partnerships
- Establish evaluation criteria and framework for evaluation of new partnerships opportunities
- Work closely with Director to develop new programs and opportunities to engage new partners and sponsors
- Drafting proposals
- Reviewing agreements
- Negotiating agreements
- Report on progress and areas for growth
- Researching new business opportunities and mapping partner strengths and needs
- Advanced degree in Management, Finance, Business or related field
- MBA
- Knowledge of Entrepreneurship news, trends, terms and insights.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with successful record of business development and strategy
- Experience in an startup organization or internal innovation team responsible for developing new products or services
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and demonstrated ability to manage professional relationships across a variety of stakeholder groups
- Proven ability to negotiate
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while sticking to deadlines
- Ability to think creatively
- Regional understanding of entrepreneurial ecosystem
- Knowledge and understanding of trends in corporate innovation
- Knowledge of Arabic language is desired
