Job Description:

General Statement of Duties

This particular job posting is an "Open Pool" position. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis.
Part-time; trust funded; Adjunct Faculty DCE MCCC/MTA Unit positions

The Faculty chosen for this position will be required to instruct courses on site at high schools within the North Central Mass area, during the high school day and/or after school hours. These courses will function as off campus locations for Mount Wachusett Community College.

The class will follow all standards and expectations that are employed within traditional campuses. The faculty chosen for this position should consider different sources for textbooks that may include Open Education Resources (OER). Class times may vary due to rotating schedules at some high schools.


  • Instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes;
  • Instructional preparation;
  • Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion;
  • Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion;
  • An obligation on the part of the unit member to be available to students by appointment when mutually convenient; Not more than one faculty meeting per session.
  • Creation of classroom environment that upholds the rigor of college instruction while addressing the needs of high school students; maintain a strong classroom management style
  • Other duties as assigned.

Master's degree with a major in course content area required

Evidence of competence in the area of instruction

Maintain expertise appropriate to teaching responsibilities

3-5 years teaching experience in a community college preferred

Experience working with diverse populations preferred

Ability to accommodate schedule changes due to weather related closings, school-wide assemblies, and/or standardized testing.

For an applicant for employment to meet the minimum entrance requirements, the following may also by required by both MWCC and the high school district:

Salary: $3,312.00-$4,002.00 3-credit course, $4,416.00-5,336.00 4-credit course, $4,946.00-5,976.00 4-credit lab
