This is a full-time grant funded benefited position, which serves as the principal executive and operation officer of the Heart of Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center at Middle Georgia State University, Dublin Campus. He/she shall report to the State GYSTC Executive Director. This individual shall oversee all operations of the center and deliver professional development in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects for kindergarten-eight grade level teachers in Dublin City, Laurens, Telfair Dodge Montgomery, Bleckley, Wheeler, Wilcox, Pulaski, and Treutlen County School Districts. In addition, this individual will provide hands-on and inquiry-based activities for students. These activities include in-class field trips, afterschool programs, camps, Saturday Science and Family STEM Nights/Days events. The coordinator will also have responsibility for reporting all programming to the State Headquarters of GYSTC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years experience in teaching science or math at the elementary or middle school level. Experience is highly desirable or demonstrated ability to teach and develop science, technology or mathematics curriculum. Applicant must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The ability to function virtually independently and to initiate, manage and evaluate a variety of programs and activities is required. Strong administrative skills, experience in financial management, budgeting grant writing and fundraising preferred. Evening work and travel will be required for this position.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
