The division includes a strong multidisciplinary team of providers managing a variety of gastrointestinal conditions and performing relevant procedures. Close collaboration is maintained with the department of surgery. Comprehensive services are provided in the 154 bed Children’s Hospital of Georgia with the region’s only Level IV NICU. We have a comprehensive group of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists serving children and families from across Georgia and we are a key sub specialty referral center for the southeast. The Children’s Hospital of Georgia is part of the Augusta University Health System which includes a 478-bed medical center, a Medical Office Building with more than 80 outpatient practice sites in one convenient setting, and a Critical Care Center housing a 13-county regional trauma center.

The division is closely tied to areas of focus and advancement at Augusta University which include a newly formed Digestive Health Center presenting significant opportunities to enhance the clinical and research agenda of the institution.

Augusta University is the 10^th largest medical school in the country with over 920 students. Clinical opportunities include providing inpatient consultations and maintaining outpatient clinics. Experience in teaching medical students, and residents is highly desirable.

Augusta supports an active arts community with touring companies of Broadway productions, a regional ballet company, and a professional symphony orchestra. The cost of living is below the national average, yet the quality of life ranks well above that same national average. The largest lake in Georgia is our neighbor, and there are beaches and mountains within a couple of hours drive.

Must be eligible to obtain medical licensure from the State of Georgia.
